Lützow's Empire-style Villa in Carlsbad

The villa was built in a unique location in the very heart of Carlsbad – a city founded in the year 1350 by the medieval king Charles IV. It is located behind the Jeanna de Carro Park on a slope overlooking the right bank of the Teplá river. The property offers a magnificent view of the luxury hotel Grandhotel Pupp and is only 300 meters away from the world-renowned spa colonnade.

Since 1964, the Villa and the Park with its feline a two dogs sculptures have the status of a national cultural heritage protected by law.

The Villa was built in 1844 for the Baron August von Lützow. The remainder of the plot was turned into a beautiful garden with pergolas, gazebos and 2 replicas of bastions boasting with many magical and mysterious spots.

The Villa has a floor space of 454 m² and comes with a cellar. The ground floor originally took the form of an enclosed balcony with pillars but has been turned into the main hall. The six-piece Windsor-style windows with plaster cornices add to the unique look of the Villa. The welcome living room is connected to the terrace and it offers one of the best views of Carlsbad. The right wing of the Villa contains the dining hall and kitchen, the left wing contains an elegant office room with its own bedroom and bathroom.

The first floor houses the private living room in an octagonal shape with 5,1 meter tall ceilings and 3 more bedrooms. Part of the property is an adjacent rotunda sheltering a feline sculpture. Furthermore, the property contains a number of sculptures of the Berlin sculptor August Kiss, for instance the sculpture of an Amazon Warrior, a resting deer, a raging bull and the sculptures of two huge dogs guarding the entrance of the Villa (some of the sculptures were allegedly created by the Baron himself). Part of the property is a terrace with a staircase and the garden with a gazebo. The property's total plot size is 2 681 m² including a garage with a floor space of 56 m² and a small apartment for the property caretaker and personnel. The whole property is fenced off and secured with a CCTV system.

The interior of the Villa has been carefully restored strictly adhering to the original design language of the Villa's builder Johann Knoll. Now, the fully restored privately owned Villa is widely considered one of the most beautiful properties in Czechia.

In addition to being one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, Carlsbad (Karlovy Vary in Czech) attracts visitors thanks to its spas, where diseases of the digestive system, stomach, chronic diseases of the pancreas, diabetes, overweight, obesity and disorders of the spine and large joints are successfully treated. It is also possible to enjoy many other spa procedures that the city offers.
